Can you write an entire book in three weeks?
Tom Wynbrandt did it. He worked with MSNBC host Ali Velshi to write Velshi’s Gimme My Money Back—a survival guide for the Great Recession—in just three weeks. “It had an immutable deadline,” he said.
To accomplish the task, Wynbrandt practically camped out in Velshi’s offices, alternately researching, writing, interviewing and writing some more. The book reached #6 on the Barnes & Noble list of financial bestsellers. Velshi told Wynbrandt, “You sound more like me than I do.”
Wynbrandt subsequently helped Velshi and CNN host Christine Romans write “How to Speak Money” (Wynbrandt suggested the title) and he became a Velshi speechwriter as well.
